Bryan Health and Lincoln Orthopaedic Center, in partnership with Crete Area Medical Center, to Provide Athletic Training Services for Crete High School
Bryan Health and Lincoln Orthopaedic Center, along with financial support from Crete Area Medical Center, are pleased to announce a mutual agreement with Crete Public Schools to provide exclusive sports medicine and athletic training services for Crete High School.
“Our goal at Crete Area Medical Center is to find opportunities to partner with our community organizations to improve the health of the members of our community, said Rebekah Mussman, president and CEO of Crete Area Medical Center. “The Athletic Training program is an excellent opportunity for us to work closely with the Crete Public Schools, their coaches, student-athletes and parents. It is an expansion to our high quality sports injury care we currently provide in our emergency department, clinic and therapy services.”
Bryan Health and Lincoln Orthopaedic Center have partnered with local high schools, youth sports organizations and community hospitals to form a sports medicine program that provides professional athletic training services. A certified athletic trainer will be assigned to cover daily practices and attend all varsity matches to evaluate, treat, rehabilitate and provide first aid to athletes. The individual will also provide relevant education and literature on athletic injuries to student-athletes, parents and coaches and provide full concussion testing services to both high school and junior high school participants.
“The care of our student-athletes and their treatment after injury is a high priority for all of us at Crete Public Schools,” said Jim Moore, athletic director of Crete High School. “We are fortunate to partner with Bryan Health and Lincoln Orthopaedic Center to ensure the wellness of our athletes and support of our coaching staff.”
Tim Tommerup, MS, ATC will be the dedicated athletic trainer serving Crete High School. Tommerup graduated from Eastern Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training and earned his master’s degree in kinesiology from Louisiana State University. The Vancouver, Washington native has over 20 years of athletic training experience at the high school, community college and university levels.
