Bryan Health raises minimum starting wage to $11 per hour

Bryan Health’s new minimum starting wage will be $11/hour, effective immediately.

This is a system wide decision, and includes employees working at Crete Area Medical Center as well as at Bryan Heart, Bryan LifePointe and Bryan Physician Network offices.

This will immediately affect approximately 25 percent of Bryan’s workforce, with some employees receiving an hourly increase up to $2.55. “Impacted positions are vital, crucially important roles for Bryan Health to serve its patients and visitors,” said Jan Garvin, Bryan Health Vice President for Human Resources.

Examples of affected jobs include entry-level positions within Bryan Medical Center’s and Crete Area Medical Center’s Nutrition and Dining Services areas, environmental services at Bryan Medical Center, custodial roles at Bryan LifePointe and entry-level medical records roles at Bryan Heart.

“This increase will enrich our pool of applicants, so that we can continue to be selective and hire people who share our core values and want a rewarding career in health care,” said Garvin.  “In health care settings, job roles come with responsibilities and expectations that warrant a very competitive wage.”
