National Speaker and Suicide Survivor Kevin Hines Speaks at Bryan October 6
On Tuesday, October 6, Bryan Health will host a free community education program featuring Kevin Hines, a global speaker, author and mental health advocate who reaches audiences with his story of unlikely survival and strong will to live.
Kevin's presentation, "Cracked not Broken" focuses on his journey with bipolar disorder. Two years after being diagnosed with the disease at age 19, Kevin attempted to take his own life by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California. Miraculously, he withstood the fall becoming part of only one percent of people to survive the drop of over 200 feet.
During his presentation, Kevin will share how he traveled to the Bridge, his feelings of hopelessness yet desire for someone to help, his interactions with others that day and the impact individuals can have to change a life.
