Eric Mooss to be Chief Executive Officer at Bryan Medical Center; John Woodrich to Add Health System Responsibilities
Eric Mooss, FACHE, CMPE, has been named Chief Executive Officer of Bryan Medical Center and will assume these responsibilities on Jan. 1, 2023.
“On behalf of our trustees, we are extremely appreciative of the entire Bryan team and its senior leaders," said Mark Walz, chair of the Bryan Health Board of Trustees. "The team proved indispensable for Nebraskans during the pandemic, yet did not stop there. They’ve been recognized for quality and innovation, extended Bryan’s presence across the region, created partnerships to address workforce challenges and continue to be known for collaboration with physicians and communities. Eric’s involvement was key to many of these accomplishments – he has a proven track record that will allow the largest medical center in our health system to continue to evolve and provide the highest level of tertiary care, and exceptional community- based care.”
Innovative and Visionary
Shannon Harner, chair of the Bryan Medical Center Board of Trustees says the board understands that future growth and unrelenting demand for highly specialized and seamless care will require innovative and visionary leadership.
"Eric has demonstrated this time and time again throughout his career. Additionally, the relationships he has developed with the medical staff as president of Bryan Physician Network give the board great confidence that Bryan Medical Center’s reputation for collaboration with providers will flourish,” Harner said.
Mooss, a native of Omaha, Nebraska, earned his bachelor of science degree from Creighton University in 2002 and his master of health administration from the University of Iowa in 2004. Prior to joining Bryan, Mooss served in leadership roles for Banner Health as well as Alegent Health and Alegent Creighton Clinic in Omaha. Mooss is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and was recognized as one of four under 40 by the Lincoln Young Professionals Group in 2019.
Mooss has served as president of Bryan Physician Network since 2015 and as vice president of operations for Bryan Medical Center since 2019. He has overseen the growth of the Bryan Physician Network from 11 practices with less than 30 providers to 23 practices served by more than 150 providers.
Expanded Role for Woodrich
With Eric assuming the Bryan Medical Center CEO role, John Woodrich will transition from day-to-day leadership of our Lincoln facility and will add chief operating officer to his current system title of Bryan Health executive vice president.
“This means John will oversee all operations, including six hospital sites and clinics with nearly 200 providers, said said Russ Gronewold, president and CEO, Bryan Health. John has developed deep relationships with providers across the state.”
