Bryan Health and Cancer Partners of Nebraska welcome Peter Morris, MD, and the launch of a new gynecologic oncology specialty, a first for the women of Lincoln.

As a board-certified gynecologic oncology surgeon, Dr. Morris specializes in the surgical treatment and management of cancers that begin in a woman’s reproductive organs. He is one of only a few gynecologic oncology surgeons in Nebraska and Lincoln’s first, adding a much-needed specialty to the community. Dr. Morris has over 35 years of experience in treating and managing gynecologic cancers. He is currently seeing patients at Cancer Partners of Nebraska.

“It’s an honor and privilege to join Cancer Partners of Nebraska to provide specialized care to women who need it most,” Dr. Morris said. “The current state of cancer care in Lincoln is excellent and will take a significant step forward in the future with the April Sampson Cancer Center. I can’t tell you how excited I am to be a part of it.”

With the addition of Dr. Morris, Cancer Partners of Nebraska now has 10 oncologists providing personalized, comprehensive care to patients. They are a member of the National Cancer Institute and are affiliated with MD Anderson Cancer Center. They offer a multidisciplinary team of medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, geneticists, therapists and other cancer experts to evaluate and determine the best treatment plans for each patient.

Personalized, Comprehensive Care

In 2023, Cancer Partners of Nebraska will partner with Bryan and have offices in the future April Sampson Cancer Center. The April Sampson Cancer Center will be located near 40th and Rokeby Road in south Lincoln and be the centerpiece of the future Bryan South Campus. The 140,000 square foot facility will centralize cancer care under one roof and offer advanced technology and treatment in a healing, comfortable environment.

“It’s exciting to visit the site of our future Bryan South Campus and see the progress on our new facility. But it’s even more rewarding to make cancer care more convenient for patients and families,” said David Reese, vice president of clinical and support services at Bryan Health. “The addition of Dr. Morris and his gynecologic oncology specialty are a great example of fulfilling our promise to bring leading physicians and new treatments options close to home.
