Crete Area Medical Center Honored for Quality Excellence by Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services
Crete Area Medical Center (CAMC) today announced the facility has been recognized by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services as a 2023 Rural Provider Excellence in Quality Award recipient. Presented during the Nebraska Critical Access Hospitals and Rural Health Clinics Quality Conference, this annual award honors Top 10 overall performance in quality among Nebraska’s 63 Critical Access Hospitals.
“We are honored to be awarded for our quality at Crete Area Medical Center. This is a testament to the unwavering commitment by our team each and every day to deliver the highest standard of care to our community,” said April Gaines, CAMC Chief Nursing Officer. “This recognition reinforces our dedication to our mission. We also express gratitude to our patients for entrusting us with their care. We are so proud of our each and every member of our team.”
“It is very gratifying to be recognized as second of the top ten critical access hospitals to receive the Rural Provider Excellence in Quality Award,” said Amy Meyers and Kelly Gifford, CAMC Quality and Health Services Coordinators. “This recognition would not have been possible without every member of our organization, as we all strive to provide the highest quality healthcare to our patients, and this award recognizes the accomplishments toward that goal.
The Rural Provider Excellence in Quality Award utilizes the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX© framework to analyze Medicare Beneficiary Quality Improvement Project (MBQIP) measures for each of the 63 Critical Access Hospitals in Nebraska. The analysis percentile-ranks performance for each facility across nearly two dozen metrics and those facilities with the 10 highest scores are recognized with the Rural Provider Excellence in Quality Award.
“Nebraska’s Critical Access Hospitals are deeply invested in high-quality care, and we are proud of the patient experience these facilities and their staff are delivering to rural communities across our state,” said Nancy Jo Hansen, Flex and SHIP Program Manager, Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. “We’re delighted to be able to recognize the efforts of those who are setting the standard for hospital quality in rural Nebraska.”
“Each year, Nebraska’s Critical Access Hospitals are among the best performing rural hospitals according to our INDEX analysis. We are thrilled to once again partner with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services on this unique award program and recognize the achievements of these Top 10 performers for hospital quality,” said Michael Topchik, National Leader, The Chartis Center for Rural Health.
