Grand Island Regional Medical Center Receives Designation as Basic Level Trauma Center
Grand Island Regional Medical Center (GIRMC) is proud to announce its designation as a Level IV, Basic Level Trauma Center by the State of Nebraska, in accordance with the Nebraska Statewide Trauma System Regulations.
Andrea Lentz, GIRMC Trauma Coordinator highlights, “Our experienced team of trauma physicians and nurses are available 24/7 to assess, treat, and stabilize patients as a Level IV Trauma Center. They work well with our local general and orthopedic surgeons, providing excellent, quality patient care".
At GIRMC, we strive to provide Grand Island and the surrounding communities with high-quality, comprehensive emergency care. GIRMC’s Chief Executive Officer Drew Waterman says, “Becoming a trauma designated hospital highlights our capabilities to stabilize and treat traumatically injured patients, showing our commitment to our mission to advance the health of individuals in our region through collaboration with physicians and communities.”
In alignment with our One Team, One Purpose core value, this achievement is the culmination of dedicated work by multiple teams to improve best practices. As required by the trauma designation, GIRMC demonstrates standards of commitment, clinical and technological resources, and staff training. GIRMC also participates in a continuous performance improvement process and provides educational opportunities in trauma care.
