Grand Island Regional Medical Center Achieves Bronze Recognition
Grand Island Regional Medical Center was recognized this week by Live On Nebraska for achieving bronze recognition for the 2024 DoNation campaign.
The DoNation campaign is a national effort which unites America's workforce for organ, eye and tissue donation. The initiative is sponsored by Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The effort challenges Grand Island Regional Medical Center and other healthcare organizations to create donation-friendly workplaces that educate and engage employees and the community about the crucial need for organ donation and provides opportunities to sign up as organ, eye and tissue donors.
On behalf of Live On Nebraska, Chief Nursing Officer Angie Friesen expressed gratitude to the employees of Grand Island Regional Medical Cener for the exceptional care provided to patients and their families. The collaboration between GIRMC employees and Live On Nebraska during the donation process helps to bring awareness to the importance of donation.
