Crete Area Medical Center Provider Team Growing To Meet Your Needs

Crete Area Medical Center (CAMC) is excited to welcome Libby Lewandowski, APRN, to our Family Practice team! Libby and her husband, Tyler, currently live in Milford, NE, and will be relocating to Saline County very soon. Libby has been practicing the art of nursing for 23 short years and is board-certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, specializing in family practice.

The daughter of a military physician, Libby, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1978. After her father retired from active duty in 1986, Libby relocated with her family to Pierce, NE, and graduated from Pierce High School in 1997.  She then went on to complete her Associate of Science degree from Northeast Community College in Norfolk in 1999 and her undergraduate nursing degree from UNMC College of Nursing in Omaha in 2001. In the fall of 2002, she completed her PICU trauma solid organ transplant nursing residency program at The University of Wisconsin Children’s Hospitals and Clinics in Madison, Wisconsin. In the late fall of that same year, she moved home to be closer to family and friends and began working in the PICU at The Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. In 2004, when children of her own started arriving, she transitioned out of Omaha and began practicing in Northeast Nebraska’s critical access hospitals in order to be closer to her extended family. These formative rural critical access hospital nursing experiences lit the fire and started her on her graduate nursing journey. In 2016, she completed her Masters in Nursing Executive Leadership at Nebraska Methodist College of Nursing, and in 2022, she completed her Postmasters Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate through Clarkson College of Nursing in Omaha. During the final leg of her graduate school journey, Libby worked weekends on West 7 South at Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln.

When asked about her experiences, she’ll tell you that: “Though I am a world traveler, I am a small-town girl at heart. I choose CAMC because their mission, vision, and values of integrity, teamwork, and service match my own.” When looking towards the future, she’s already contemplating a doctorate in nursing, but in the meantime, her goal as your provider is to provide you with “high-quality, cost-effective care, close to home that takes into consideration what is the matter with you and focuses on what matters most to you.” Lewandowski spends her free time with her friends and family, traveling the world, reading, and enjoying the great outdoors by fishing, hunting, and camping.

Crete Area Medical Center hopes you will join them in welcoming Libby Lewandowski, APRN, to our community. To schedule an appointment with Libby or one of our other excellent providers, please call 402-826-2102.
