My Approach to Care

In addition to caring for patients in the hospital for mental health conditions, I provide outpatient ECT (electroconvulsive therapy) treatment.

Who benefits from ECT treatment:
Patients who have tried multiple antidepressants in combination with talk or psychotherapy and are still struggling with debilitating Treatment Resistant Depression. Their depression impacts their job, relationships and the ability to go to school as an adult. Sometimes ECT benefits patients who have life-threatening depression that requires them to have the quickest response possible to alleviate their symptoms.

My approach to ECT treatment includes keeping up with the latest literature studying and developing the best methods of administering safe and effective ECT. This approach also includes involving the patient and their support systems from the very first step of the process.
