When Lindsey Koelzer and Kieran Henning were determining where to receive their obstetric care for their child, they decided close to home and just down the hall would be the perfect fit for Lindsey and their family. Their daughter, Kaydence, born July 6, 2023, was delivered at Crete Area Medical Center (CAMC) by Dr. Ryan Buse.
Lindsey has worked as a nurse in the Crete Medical Clinic at Crete Area Medical Center for over a year and a half. “Having the option to receive care close to home was so convenient and it is nice to work with and know the providers personally that are caring for me and my family,” said Lindsey. “It is easy to get an appointment with our crazy schedule since everything is right here!”
Kaydence is Lindsey’s third child and she commented that this pregnancy was a lot easier to get through with the support of the staff. Lindsey was impressed with the continuity of care between all departments, especially when it came time for her to deliver. “I feel like that compared to Lincoln, it feels more tight-knit at CAMC and that I had a lot of one-on-one with the staff because I was the only mother delivering at the time, versus in Lincoln there are multiple women in labor. I had great nurses taking care of me so the process went really smooth,” said Lindsey. “I really like my provider, Dr. Ryan Buse, he has a sense of humor and made the experience fun. The birthing experience was the smoothest one I have had. My epidural worked great and once things started to progress it went quickly. The staff, nurses, and everyone was so supportive and I had a lot of clinic staff members come check up on me. We are one big family here at CAMC so I was happy that they could share in my joy.”
When further discussing her experience with her care, Lindsey shared her thoughts on Dr. Ryan Buse and how fortunate she is to have the same physician throughout all the stages of her and her child’s care. “I like that my provider is the one I see throughout my and my babie’s entire healthcare journey, not just the prenatal or delivery care,” shared Lindsey, “I feel like they know you better and it is a different level of care because they are invested and know the medical and personal history and are so much more than a healthcare provider, they are a friend.”
