Skilled Care

Skilled Care is goal-oriented inpatient care designed if you or a loved one has had at least four days of acute-care stay at Crete Area Medical Center, within the previous 30 days.

The services may include, but are not limited to:

• Physical therapy
• Occupational therapy
• Speech therapy
• Education and treatment for a particular disease
• Dressing changes
• Long-term IV antibiotic therapy
• Pain management

While in Skilled Care, your doctor oversees your care and makes weekly visits. Your daily care is managed by your nurse and rehabilitation teams.

One you have progressed on your care plan goals and no longer meet skilled care criteria, we work with you to determine plans for going home or transferring to another facility.

Skilled care can be provided to non-Medicare patients through contracts with their insurance company if skilled care is required.

Swing Bed Care

Swing bed, is a level of care that requires the direction of a physician and a 24-hour management by a nurse and other skilled personnel. It is designed to be a short-term stay option to aid in your rehabilitation.
