Emotional Wellness During Cancer
Your mental health is as important as your physical health to the success of your cancer treatment. It is normal for cancer patients to feel overwhelmed or experience strong emotions, including disbelief, fear, anxiety, anger and sadness. Ignoring these feelings can affect your physical and medical progress. That’s why it may be helpful to work with your oncologist and a mental health expert as needed during your treatment.
“Mental health services at the April Sampson Cancer Center are an important part of recovery — for patients as well as their families. Providing services onsite and meeting patients along their treatment journey is vital.”
