We believe in making your stay or visit as comfortable as possible by offering you services that meet any physical, emotional and spiritual needs you may have.

During Your Stay

Patient Rooms

For your comfort, all rooms are private and include your own private bathroom. We want you to experience a home-like atmosphere while you are staying with us.

Please feel free to fill the side closets and drawers with your personal items. If you are too hot or too cold, please notify your nurse for assistance.

If you have forgotten your toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant or other personal items, we will gladly provide these for you.

All patient rooms and the medical centers have free Wireless (Wi-Fi) Internet access.

Family members and friends can call directly to the telephone in your room from outside the medical center:

To place a long distance call, please dial 0 and the Operator will assist you.

Flowers

As flowers and plants arrive, our volunteers deliver them to patients' rooms. Flower deliveries for patients in the intensive care units are left at the nurses' station on each unit.

Activity Room

The Activity Room contains items for patients and families to enjoy during their stay at the hospital.

Items include:

  • Coloring books and crayons
  • Crossword and word search puzzles
  • Paperback books
  • Playing cards
  • Puzzles
  • Projects and travel games

To use this service:

A staff nurse will obtain the item for you, or you may contact the Volunteers & Customer Care department at 402-481-3032, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Interpreter Services

Translation Services

Quality care for non-English speaking patients is a priority at Bryan.

Spanish translators are available on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We offer translation services for all languages through our Language Line tele-services.

All full-time translators hold Language Line University Medical Certification in Spanish. For more information or to visit with a translator, call 402-826-7901.

Sign Language, Oral Interpreters and Other Services

Bryan Medical Center is committed to providing equal access to all persons with disabilities, including patients, their companions and others.

To ensure effective communication in connection with the provision of medical services, Bryan Medical Center provides qualified sign language and oral interpreters and other auxiliary aids and services, free of charge, for patients, companions, and other individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, or have low vision.

To request auxiliary aids or services, please contact Care Managers: 402-481-1111. If Care Manager is unavailable, please call Administrative Managers 24hr/7: 402-481-1111. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities. Notary Public

Notaries are available Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in administration located on the first floor.

Ethics Committee

The Ethics Committee is available to help patients and families facing difficult treatment decisions. There is no charge for this service. To request a consultation, call Pastoral Care at 402-481-5130, or call the medical center operator and ask to speak with the administrative manager.

After Your Stay

Take-Home Prescriptions

Pharmacists are available weekdays before 4 p.m. to provide bedside medication counseling. Keep in mind that if you are covered under a prescription plan, you will need to have your medications filled at your local pharmacy or a pharmacy designated by your plan. Let your nurse know that you wish to have a written prescription to take with you or phoned to the pharmacy of your choice.

Care Management Discharge Planning

An important part of your hospital stay is planning and preparing for your discharge from the hospital. Our care management team is available to help make sure you have support services you need for your recovery. To contact us, please call the hospital operator and ask to be connected to a care management staff member, call 402-481-1111.
