Alcohol and Drug Evaluation

Is Alcohol or Drugs Taking Over Your Life?

Take our free, confidential
online assessment to assess your risk.

To request an evaluation at the Bryan Independence Center, you don't need to be certain that alcohol or other drugs are a problem. The purpose of an evaluation is to determine if alcohol or other drugs are a problem. If needed, the evaluator can help you find the best treatment program, even if that help comes from a different agency.

Walk-In Evaluation

Walk-in evaluations are available at the Bryan Independence Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m.-noon. Sometimes scheduling an appointment can be a barrier especially if a person is at a point where they are ready to seek help. This new walk-in option will help increase access to care.

For those seeking an evaluation, we strongly encourage arriving by 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cost for an evaluation is $348. Individuals need to bring a photo ID, and a valid insurance card if they would like us to bill their insurance. Youth must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

Evaluation by Appointment

Evaluations are available Monday through Friday by appointment and as needed for emergencies. To schedule an evaluation, call 402-481-5268.

During the Evaluation

Evaluations are available for youth and adults. During an evaluation, a counselor determines the person's level of alcohol or other drug use and makes recommendations and referrals on substance abuse-related issues. This thorough evaluation includes an alcohol/drug history and assessment. The counselor also visits with family members and others about concerns and questions regarding the person's alcohol/drug use. Evaluations are available Monday through Friday by appointment and as needed for emergencies. An evaluation does not require a person to do anything. It is only a recommendation.

Additional Evaluation Opportunities

If a person won't come in for an evaluation, you have options. These options may help you decide how to proceed.

Sometimes the opportunity to help someone with an alcohol or drug-related problem occurs when the person is hospitalized for another medical reason. With a doctor's order, intervention nurses can evaluate patients in any Lincoln hospital.

To schedule an evaluation, please call 402-481-5268 or 800-742-7845, ext. 15268.
