Elevated PSA Clinic
High prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level? Get peace of mind and a plan in one visit.
Measuring PSA is one way to help find prostate cancer early, when it is treatable and most curable. But there are many possible causes for a high PSA level. That's why it's important to discuss your results with your provider.
The Elevated PSA Clinic at Bryan South Campus can help.
Who should attend the Elevated PSA Clinic?
You may qualify for care at the PSA Clinic if you meet any of the following:
- PSA greater than 2.5 and younger than 60 with a family history of prostate cancer
- PSA over 4.0 without other risk factors
- PSA increasing more than .75 per year
- Prostate nodule on rectal exam
- History of prostate cancer with detectable PSA and no plan for care
- Strong family history of prostate cancer
What can I expect at the PSA Clinic?
Once you schedule and arrive at your appointment, you will meet with a urologist, a nurse and a urology nurse navigator. They will review your PSA levels, talk to you about your medical and family history and risk factors and perform a physical exam.
The team will then recommend a plan and next steps, which may include further testing, imaging, a biopsy or future screenings. They also share this plan with your primary care provider.
