Vascular Care
Your vascular system is made up of arteries, which carry oxygen-rich blood away from your heart, and veins, which carry deoxygenated blood back to your heart. This is also called your circulatory system. Vascular disease affects your arteries and/or veins. Most often this affects blood flow by either blocking or weakening blood vessels or damaging valves in your veins. This causes a decrease in blood flow to certain areas of your body. Because of the decreased blood flow, organs and other body structures may be damaged.
Vascular problems can affect all of your major organs. A few of the many conditions caused by vascular disease include strokes due to decreased blood flow to your brain, blood clots in your legs leading to leg pain and swelling, and the formation of varicose veins.
