Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
We're here to care for the special needs of your miracle baby
Bryan Medical Center's Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) offers the experienced staff, physicians and advanced technology.
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Bryan Medical Center is led by a board certified neonatologist and a highly trained, multidisciplinary team from nursing, radiology, respiratory therapy, anesthesia, lab and more.
Features of our specially designed NICU to care for our tiniest and most critical newborns include:
- Lighting and sound engineering that creates the optimum environment for the development and comfort of NICU babies
- Heated panels above the sinks keep this area warm for when babies are big enough for bathing
- Each patient room has a family area that can be separated with a privacy curtain. A sleeper sofa offers a place to rest or spend the night if desired. A private refrigerator stores a mother's breast milk or the parents' beverages
- The first floor of the Institute for Women's and Children's Health offers a NICU family area where parents can shower or do laundry
- A camera system called, Angel Eyes, to allow parents and loved ones to view their baby from anywhere, anytime
- A rooftop healing garden where families can take a break and enjoy the outdoors while staying close to their baby
